While I tend to agree with the seeming minority that Valentine’s Day is just another Hallmark holiday, there are some who view it as a celebration of love. Okay, I suppose it can be that too.
So it’s a celebration of love. But what exactly is this love stuff? What does it even mean? Is it tender emotions? Is it sexual? What is it?!
That’s the answer. God is Love– true love. And it is the nature of Love to be compassionate, gracious, longsuffering, merciful and true.
“But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.” -Psalm 73:28 I am a little late, it seems, in getting my New Year’s post up. “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return… Continue reading When Rain Falls…
*title taken from a quote by Marcus Aurelius.* I adore the night sky. It’s grand, it’s majestic, it’s glorious. It is the crown of nature’s beauty. The stars are cause for wonderment, for dreaming, and, in the words of L. M. Montgomery’s Anne Shirley, they provide so much “scope for the imagination.” They are also… Continue reading Watch the Stars, and See Yourself Running With Them
