I can’t, But He Can

“I can do all things through Christ which strengthenth me.” ~ Philippians 4:13

This is a lesson I’ve been re-learning all week. My assignments at school are piling up, some friends of mine were experience some conflicts, I had two tests and several quizzes…. It’s been crazy. And just about every day this week, I felt like I was drowning in drama and textbooks! I learned, however, that opening my hands and relinquishing my struggle for control was all that I needed to do to make the stress go away. Once I pried my hands of the multiple situations and gave them to the Lord, I knew everything would be okay. I may not be able to control/handle the little pressures of life… but Jesus can, and He’ll help me to bear the weight.

Jesus is incredibly strong! He doesn’t need us to control our lives; He doesn’t want us to grapple with Him, trying to pluck our world from His fingers. He’s got it! He just wants us to let go, and keep our hands to ourselves. He will always give us the strength we need to get through the day/week/month/year. All we need to do is trust Him. How freeing! Praise the Lord.

Dear Lord, thank You for being in control of my world. I know I can’t handle it on my own. I trust You and love you, Savior, and I want to give all my burdens to You right now. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. I can honestly say i know exactly what you’re going through. School assignments ARE often difficult, but God always makes a way

      1. I love that passage! It’s been a blessing in my life many, many times this year– from getting homework done, to encouraging friends with impossible school bills, to very ill professors. God’s Word applies to every are of life. He’s so good!

  2. It’s definitely applicable to helping friends!!! I’ve experienced that first person this last year as well 🙂 God is good. Thanks again for the post!
