“Write it on your heart
that every day is the best day in the year.”~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Think about this for a moment: every day is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It is a day that will never return, a day that you will never get back; once it is over, it is gone. On the other hand, every new day is a fresh opportunity to do something amazing. Something beautiful. Something extraordinary. It’s an occasion to enjoy life’s promise and potential in new and different ways.
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
— Psalm 118: 24
The sun may be shining warm and golden today, bathing your world in a happy glow; or maybe it’s cold and dark, rain pouring from dismal, endless clouds. Has your day only just begun? Is it still full of blessed possibilities? Or does it feel like the day can’t end soon enough? However it is, today is the Lord’s! He made it, planned it, and desires you to be part of it. Rejoice!
“I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.”
— Psalm 3:5
The Lord intended for you to wake up and experience another day. Why? What task does He have in store for you this afternoon? How can you honor Him today? What can you sacrifice for the sake of the Cross? You can do it! The Lord will give you the strength, the grace you need to accomplish it. Don’t doubt, don’t hesitate. Seek the Lord! Make His purpose your mission.
“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
— Lamentations 3:22-23
Our God has provided us with the light of a new morning not just for service, but for enjoyment. The Father wants us to be joyful, and there is so much for which to be grateful! You are alive. You are loved. You are saved. The Lord has shown you mercy. You have been forgiven. Praise Him and make the most of it! It’s a beautiful day!
“Rise and shine
And give God the glory, glory
Rise and shine
And give God the glory, glory
Rise and shine
And give God the glory, glory
Children of the Lord!”
