Are Ye Able

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” –Colossians 3:17

I met several people in Costa Rica that were inspirational to me. Today I’ll tell you about two of them. The first is Terry Sanders, the blind evangelist; the other is thirteen year old Kevin, a small, sweet boy with cerebral palsy.

Terry has been blind since a young age, but it doesn’t seem to have hindered him! He’s traveled the world (often alone, I believe.) preaching the gospel. He’s also a wonderful pianist… and he learned after he became blind!

Kevin is frail in body but strong in heart and soul. While he needs crutches to get around and is easily tired, he literally runs to be helpful. He tried to open doors for me, run so I wouldn’t have to go his pace… a sweet young gentleman. And he is so full of hope! Hope of getting stronger, hope of learning the piano… he’s an inspiration.

These two remarkable people convicted me. They are handicapped and encumbered, but they are not hindered. They have every excuse to be half-hearted in service. I have no excuse to not give my best to God! It doesn’t matter what my circumstances are, what my problems are… I should still give God my very best and do all in His name and His glory.

Dear Lord, Thank you for conviction. I know that I need to do my best for you. Please give me strength and grace to do so. I love you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Hi Paige, The link between the email announcement of your blog post and WP appears to be broken. I was able to access it by clicking on the link in the Recent Posts column. Just thought you’d like to know. Have a terrific day. -Kristi

This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?
